UPDATED: Friday, May 8, 1425: Uncertainty regarding Mid-Ohio:
Mid-O gave us full confidence to go ahead with registration beginning 4/27 - they had clearance initially. Then, OH governor made changes, and now Mid-O has to get a new clearance. Under current conditions at the time of this writing, Mid-Ohio is not permitted to have track activity right now. We are optimistic to get a new order from OH governor's office that relaxes restrictions before 5/24. Watch this space for updates.

UPDATED: Monday, 5/4, 2004. PittRace registration opening is delayed one week.
Now scheduled for Monday, 5/11. There is still low-level uncertainty about PittRace going green. We're waiting for PA governor's orders to give greater clarity before bringing PittRace online. Look for that next Monday.

    UPDATED: Tuesday, 4/21, 1820ET: AMP event status: Saturday, May 2nd : GREEN-GREEN-GREEN!

Yesterday, the Gov of GA announced that the 'stay-at-home' order will expire on April 30th. Georgians will be returning to work, and some restaurants and other similar service providers will reopen, with social distancing in effect. Large-scale public gatherings continue to be restricted. A Chin Track Days private track event in the outdoor setting of AMP is *not subject to restrictions*. We're on. AMP will be hot on Saturday May 2nd for Chin Track Days. Strict social distancing guidelines will be followed in the outdoor environment at the track.

UPDATED: Tuesday, 4/21, 1815ET: Sebring event status: Saturday/Sunday May 9-10

Sebring mgmt and Chin Track Days are cautiously optimistic that this event is viable. However, we are still *not confirmed, not cancelled*. We are awaiting a formal announcement from the Governor of Florida on the lifting of statewide 'stay-at-home' orders. Currently, the governor's existing order expires on April 30th. If the governor announces that the order will expire as scheduled, then, the May 9-10 event is ON: green flag. If the Governor announces that the order is to be extended to a later expiration date in May, then, the May 9-10 event is CANCELLED: black flag.

If Florida statewide mandates allow it, the track event will go on with new social separation guidelines in effect, and there will be high expectations for drivers to follow best-practices to prevent virus transmission.

Please pay attention to further updates from the Governor of Florida regarding the 'stay-at-home' order ending on April 30th. That is the final determining factor on GO/NO-GO status for the Sebring track event on Saturday May 9-10.

UPDATED: Monday, 4/20, 1650: Watkins Glen, May 11-12: CANCELLED

Chin Track Days at Watkins Glen Int'l, May 11-12, is now CANCELLED. Chin Track Days will extend an unrestricted account credit for full value of fees paid to all registrants. The credit will be posted to your member account, and will be valid on any future event with no expiration.

State of New York 'stay-at-home' orders and mandatory closure of all non-essential businesses is in effect through May 15th. This prevents WGI from operating, and our date is cancelled. Be confident that your track fees may be used as an unrestricted full value future credit for any downstream event on the Chin Track Days schedule. Please allow several days of admin time for our staff to post the appropriate credits (not available immediately at the time of this writing). Our next date at Watkins Glen is July 1-2. NOVICE drivers: you will receive early access to future registration, ahead of general public registration. Whenever normal track activity resumes, we will still have more track events remaining in 2020 than other providers. Numerous dates will be available to all drivers in the coming months. Once our national health crisis subsides, we hope you'll be enthusiastic to return to the track!

UPDATED: Friday, 4/17, 1440 ET: AMP event status: Saturday, May 2

However, we are still *unconfirmed, not cancelled*. We are awaiting a formal announcement from the Governor of Georgia on the lifting of statewide 'stay-at-home' orders. Currently, the governor's existing order expires on April 30th. If the governor announces that the order will expire as scheduled, then, the May 2 event is ON: green flag. If the Governor announces that the order is to be extended to a later expiration date in May, then, the May 2 event is CANCELLED: black flag.

If statewide mandates allow it, the track event will go on with new social separation guidelines in effect, and there will be high expectations for drivers to follow best-practices to prevent virus transmission.

Please pay attention to further updates from the Governor of Georgia regarding the 'stay-at-home' order ending on April 30th. That is the final determining factor on GO/NO-GO status for the AMP track event on Saturday May 2nd.

UPDATED Saturday 3/14, 0800 ET: Currently, our venues have not been impacted, and Chin Track Days events continue as scheduled. Chin Track Days shares the universal concern regarding COVID-19 transmission prevention. A track event attracts people to a common destination. Still, our activities are private track events, outdoors. Not a large-scale spectator event inside an enclosed space. Our hands are usually coated with tire grime and brake dust, and beer bottle condensation after hours. Those residues don't cause illness. But, they do present a good excuse to wash your hands! Chin Track Days urges all to follow best practices for transmission prevention: refrain from hand-shaking, frequent hand-washing, avoid touching your face (you'll smudge your nose with brake dust), appropriate social-distancing. Also, if you have traveled to known high-risk areas within the past 14 days, please notify our staff to discuss options to transfer your entry to a future event if appropriate. If you are currently ill, with symptoms of respiratory distress and/or fever, we urge you to withdraw from the track event. Please contact Chin Track Days staff to discuss cancellation fee waiver options. Our track events will continue as scheduled. Please follow our FB page, @ChinTrackDays , for latest up-to-minute notifications. If you are feeling well and looking for recreation, we urge you to come to the track!
